Live to Give
I was born in The United States of America and I have had many experiences in my life that guided me to becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist. Many that had lifted me up and many that would have broken me down. Movement was the way I stayed calm. There was a rhythm to it. In 2002, I had studied Psychology and earned a Bachelor’s Degree with a minor in Dance. It was the joy of dance, coupled with the desire to help one heal, that in 2010, led me to study Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork in New York. I understood how movement could calm the central nervous, slow down the mind and connect us to ourselves. Giving us an awareness which is the first step towards change.
Going from a critical mind to a creative one. Massage School in New York was an intensive immersion program of 1000 classroom hours where I learned: Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology and Pathology. Along with a multitude of modalities that encouraged me to listen, move and feel. I learned modalities such as: Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Shiatsu, Medical Massage, Prenatal Massage, Sports, Reflexology and Myofascial Release. Self-Care and Body Mechanics were also valuable lessons.
In these 15 years since receiving this life-changing education, and having my own practice for 14 years, I am so grateful for this opportunity to teach what I love.
My approach to Therapeutic Massage is using the power of informed touch to provide a Deeply-Relaxing experience. My approach to teaching is one that honors scientific and intuitive approaches to healing, My intention is to foster the care of self and others, within an atmosphere of joy, creativity, curiosity, and compassionate communication.
